Break up your Fallow Ground

Hosea 10:12

*Sow to yourselves in righteousness* ,

*reap in mercy* ;

*break up your fallow ground* :

*for it is time to seek the LORD* ,

*till he come and rain righteousness upon you* .

In order to have harvest there must be rain.

It’s time to seek God till He come and rain righteousness upon us.

Lack of rain signifies drought.

Let it rain!

The rain must fall on good soils for us to realize better harvest.

Your life, your heart is like this soil, like ”fallow ground.”

Fallow ground is a plot of ground that used to be productive, but now is neglected and is permitted to lie waste.

It is unproductive because it is not disturbed.

It hasn’t had a plow in it. It has been allowed to crust over.

It used to give a harvest of whatever was sowed in it.

There may be something growing in fallow ground, but it is only weeds.

*For thus saith the LORD to (you)…, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.”(* Jer 4:3)

Yes don’t sow among thorns.

God will not waste his rain on briars and thorns.

Plough your fallow ground.

Beloved you’ve only experienced dews but there is showers of blessings for you.

God will cause you to flourish like a palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

But if you do not break up that fallow ground, there will be no rain of blessing.”

” *..Break up your fallow ground..* .”(Hosea 10:12)

Cultivation involves confession.

It involves repentance.

There must be openness, confession, humility, honesty.

God wants to move in us and through us in a powerful way.

Root out impurity, mediocrity, every stronghold of hurt, bitterness, un forgiveness, doubt, unbelief, pride, and self-reliance.

We must allow God to break up the fallow ground in our hearts.

” *But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin* .”(1Jn1:7)

God is light and there is no darkness in Him.

Therefore, we must walk in Christ if we are going to walk in the light.

Let His love break our fallow grounds in our hearts.

Ask God to show you and soften any places in your spiritual life that have become hardened so that the soil of your heart will be ready to receive seed that will bear much fruit.

*For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry* *ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring* :”(Is 44:3)

God’s will for you is that the dry places of your life become as a well watered garden.

He wants to see you “fat” and flourishing, to demonstrate His goodness in practical terms.

Let it rain!

God’s rainfall is for the thirsty.

Yearn for the outpouring big the rain of righteousness.

*O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land,* *where no water is;*

*To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary* .”(Ps 63:1_2)
