Certainty of God’s Promises by Oath

We are part God’s Promises through Faith:

Galatians 3:7-97ย Understand, then, that those who have faithย are children of Abraham.ย 8ย Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: โ€œAll nations will be blessed through you.โ€ย 9ย So those who rely on faithย are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

God’s promises to Abraham: Genesis 12:2-3, 18:17, 14:17-20 (Blessings by Melchizedek), 22:15-18

Don’t Give up Waiting:

Hebrews 6:13-20v15 And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised [Genesis 15:8-18 In v110-12 Abraham waited upon God to accept hi sacrifice for so long, until he slept into a deep sleep. In v17-18 The Lord appeared or answered when the sun had SET & DARKNESS had fallen].

No Argument about our Promises:

Hebrews 6:16 shows that Oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument.

We have better promisesย  & Priesthood confirmed by OATH

This oath confirms that “All Nations will be blessed through Abraham” Talking of salvation

  • Priesthood of Melchizedek: Hebrews 7:1-10
  • Jesus priesthood like Melchizedek’s: Hebrews 7:11-28

Be strengthened & persuaded that Christ sacrifice RATIFIES (making it officially VALID) the OATH, that God has even OFFERED himself so that we can be partakers of the blessings.

  • Romans 4:18-25 – 8ย Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, โ€œSo shall your offspring be.โ€ 19ย Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as deadโ€”since he was about a hundred years oldโ€”and that Sarahโ€™s womb was also dead.ย 20ย Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthenedย in his faith and gave glory to God,ย 21ย being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.ย 22ย This is why โ€œit was credited to him as righteousness.โ€ย 23ย The words โ€œit was credited to himโ€ were written not for him alone,ย 24ย but also for us,ย to whom God will credit righteousnessโ€”for us who believe in himย who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.ย 25ย He was delivered over to death for our sinsย and was raised to life for our justification.
  • Numbers 23:19 19ย God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act? Does he promiseย and not fulfill?
