A Call to Remember and Return to God

Hosea 9:10 โ€“ When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the desert. When I saw your ancestors, it was like seeing the early fruit on the fig tree. **But when they came to Baal Peor, they consecrated themselves to that shameful idol and became as vile as the thing they love.

Hosea 11:1-4 โ€“ When Israel was a child, I loved him and out of Egypt I called my son.

v2 But the more they were called, the more they went away from me.

**They sacrificed to Baals and burned incense to images

v3 It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by their arms, but they did not realise it was I who healed them.

v4 I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them, I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek, and I bent down to feed them.

v7 My people are determined to turn from me. Even though they call me God most high, I will by no means exalt them.

Hosea 13:4-6

v4 But I have been the LOD your God ever since you came out of Egypt. ***You shall acknowledge no God but me, no saviour except me.

v5 I cared for you in the wilderness, in the land of burning heat.

v6 When I fed them, they were satisfied; when they were satisfied, they became proud; they forgot me.

v9 You were destroyed, Israel because you re against me, against your helper.

Hosea 4:16 โ€“ The Israelites are stubborn, like a stubborn heifer. How can the LORD pasture them, like lambs in a meadow?

Isaiah 1:2-3 Hear me, you heavens! Listen earth! For the LORD has spoken: โ€œI reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me.

v3 The ox knows its master, the donkey its ownerโ€™s manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.

Hosea 14:1-2 Return, Israel to the LORD your God. Your sins have been your downfall.

v12 Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to him: โ€œForgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips.โ€

Isaiah 1:18-19 โ€œCome let us settle the matterโ€ฆโ€ฆv19 โ€œIf you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land
