Many people today are looking for love. True and unconditional love is found in Christ. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). By our human nature we are sinners and short of God’s glory. (Romans 3:23)

No matter what we have done, Jesus loves us and he gives us eternal life if we believe in him. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

In fact, Jesus laid down his life for us out of love ….(1 John 3:16).

The death and resurrection of Jesus gives us the opportunity to receive God’s free gift of eternal life to those who believe. “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9).

Our works cannot save us, we simply believe and are saved. Jesus knows our past, and despite of all that, he still offers eternal life and forgiveness of sin to those who believe.

We can see how deep the love of God is for a sinner by taking the example of the criminal who was hanged next to Jesus for his crimes.When he turned to Jesus, and said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, saying, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:42–43). Despite his criminal record, Jesus accepted him after he made a simple yet sincere prayer of faith

Today you can make a prayer like this one below, asking for forgiveness and accept Jesus as your Saviour.

“Almighty God, today I realize that I am a sinner and I have known that you love me. I put my faith in Jesus Christ, who died and rose from the dead so that I could be saved. Forgive me of my sins and give me a new life and beginning. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus name – AMEN!

There is rejoicing and celebration in heaven when a sinner comes to Christ (Luke 15:7).
