{"id":2368,"date":"2024-06-09T09:32:45","date_gmt":"2024-06-09T09:32:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.giveasmiletoday.org\/?p=2368"},"modified":"2024-06-09T10:09:47","modified_gmt":"2024-06-09T10:09:47","slug":"speaking-into-the-future-by-faith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.giveasmiletoday.org\/?p=2368","title":{"rendered":"Speaking into the Future by Faith"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">**<em>God is already in the futur<\/em>e**<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hebrews 11:20-22<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span id=\"en-NIV-30193\" class=\"text Heb-11-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future. <\/span><span id=\"en-NIV-30194\" class=\"text Heb-11-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21\u00a0<\/sup>By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph\u2019s sons, and worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"en-NIV-30195\" class=\"text Heb-11-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22\u00a0<\/sup>By faith Joseph, when his end was near, spoke about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and gave instructions concerning the burial of his bones.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In<strong> Genesis 47-50<\/strong>: Jacob blesses Joseph&#8217;s sons; and Joseph prophesies about deliverance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jacob &amp; Esau: Genesis 25:19-34 (CEV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Genesis 25:23<\/strong> Talks of two Nations in Rebekah&#8217;s womb (<em>Distinct people\/identities<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>v27<\/strong> Talks about <strong>Esau&#8217;s<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">temperament\/personality<\/span>: <em>A skilled hunter or an outdoor man<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jacob&#8217;s<\/strong> personality\/temperament is presented as a <em>man of quiet life, a shepherd living among the tents<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>v28<\/strong> Isaac loved Esau because he enjoyed eating the wild game brought home by Esau. On the other hand, Rebekah loved Jacob.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>v29-34<\/strong> shows the dangers of favoritism in a family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Observation of Chapter 27<\/strong><\/span>: We see that Isaac called his two sons (Esau &amp; Jacob) separately. Why?? This shows the division which was running in the family.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Benefits of being involved in your children affairs:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>**Genesis 24:1-4<\/strong> shows that Abraham was involved in Isaac&#8217;s marriage. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Result:<\/span> <strong>v67<\/strong> Isaac was comforted by his wife Rebekah after his mother&#8217;s death.<\/p>\n<p><strong>**Genesis 26:34<\/strong> shows that Isaac on the other hand was not involved in Esau&#8217;s marriage. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Result:<\/span> <strong>Gen 27:46<\/strong> Esau&#8217;s wives were a source of grief to Isaac and Rebekah.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Dangers of Favoritism: Continuation&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.<strong><span style=\"color: #003300;\">Genesis 27:1-17<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;Breeds lies and conmanship<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;Breeds unethical &amp; unscriptural behaviors<\/p>\n<p><strong>Genesis 27:41<\/strong> Shows a grudge between siblings&#8230;&#8230;v44 Shows a life of fear\/mistrust<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dangers<\/strong>: **<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Suffering<\/span>** (<strong>Genesis 31:40-41, Genesis 47:7<\/strong>) Shows that deception doesn&#8217;t pay, Jacob ended upt living few and difficult years.
