Devotion refers to the quiet time one spends praying, reading God’s word and reflecting ones relationship with him.<\/p>\n
Acts 2:42<\/strong> – All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles<\/strong> teaching, and to fellowship and to sharing of meals (including the Lord’s supper and to prayer (NLT).<\/p>\n v41 shows that those who were added to the church were those who believed and were baptized.<\/p>\n Acts 3:1-11<\/strong> shows that the crippled beggar was healed at the time of prayer. Meaning, he should not be on our TOP-TEN list, but he must be our everything.<\/p>\n The LORD strengthens those who are fully devoted to him:<\/p>\n “For the eyes of the Lord<\/span> range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war<\/em>.\u201d<\/span> 2 Chronicles 16:9<\/strong><\/p>\n Colossians 1:15-22<\/strong> shows the supremacy of Christ in everything.<\/p>\n Colossians 2:6-15<\/strong> shows that spiritual fullness is found in Christ.<\/p>\n Ezekiel 8 (v3,5,6)<\/strong> talks about the idol of jealousy in the temple which had made God angry.<\/p>\n Jeremiah 17:9-10<\/strong> shows that God searches the heart and tests the mind to reward those who are fully devoted to him.<\/p>\n Is your heart right before God?<\/p>\n Acts 8:9-23<\/strong> records the story of Simon the sorcerer, who pretended that he had changed, but his heart was not right before God.\u00a0 Multitudes in John 6:53-58, 50, 66<\/strong> were following Jesus because of miracles, but their hearts were not right.<\/p>\n We should live with a time is short attitude<\/span>:<\/p>\n Matthew 24:44<\/strong> shows that we must be ready all the time for the son of man will come when least expected.<\/p>\n 1 Corinthians 7:29-35 (CEV)<\/strong><\/p>\n 29\u00a0<\/sup>My friends, what I mean is that the Lord will soon come,[d<\/a>]<\/sup> and it won’t matter if you are married or not. <\/span> 30\u00a0<\/sup>It will be all the same if you are crying or laughing, or if you are buying or are completely broke. <\/span> 31\u00a0<\/sup>It won’t make any difference how much good you are getting from this world or how much you like it. This world as we know it is now passing away.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 32\u00a0<\/sup>I want all of you to be free from worry. An unmarried man worries about how to please the Lord. <\/span> 33\u00a0<\/sup>But a married man has more worries. He must worry about the things of this world, because he wants to please his wife. <\/span> 34\u00a0<\/sup>So he is pulled in two directions. Unmarried women and women who have never been married[e<\/a>]<\/sup> worry only about pleasing the Lord, and they keep their bodies and minds pure. But a married woman worries about the things of this world, because she wants to please her husband. <\/span> 35\u00a0<\/sup>What I am saying is for your own good\u2014it isn’t to limit your freedom.
